Smithsonian finds a special place for Stephen Colbert’s portrait
[link]
Excerpt:
While this triple portrait is not one that would typically be accessioned into the portrait gallery’s permanent collection, NPG agreed to go along with the joke and hang the portrait for a limited time. In episodes of The Colbert Report that aired on January 10, 14, and 15, 2008, Colbert tries to convince the Smithsonian that he should be considered a national treasure. He attempts to donate his portrait to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, but the museum’s director suggests that perhaps Colbert should speak to the National Portrait Gallery. Finally, after much “discussion,” the director of the National Portrait Gallery finds an appropriate place to hang Colbert’s portrait, in between the bathrooms and above the water fountain.

To All My Friends,
I love you all and hope Happiness follows you around like a besotted puppydog all year.
I finished up the graphics and stuff on Rob’s blog to his liking. I updated all his old reviews and things. A few backaches later it’s basically done. If you care to have a look it’s at robceemusic.com.
I need a new livejournal username. Correction: I’d like a new livejournal username, but I can’t figure out what I want it to be. I started this one as a backup for my old one, which I then deleted as it contained all depressing posts and whines. Now, I want a shiny, new username which fits me, but I can’t think of one. Drats.
I’ve gotten completely addicted to Facebook. Damn Oregon Trail. Damn Scrabulous. Add me as a friend? Me.
Bookmooch is my crack. I’ve just mooched eight Eighth Doctor books from some guy in New Zealand. Okay, maybe Doctor Who + Bookmooch = Crack.
Found a lovely new trade paperback of Catch-22 at Borders for 3.99. My old copy was older than I was, battered and bruised. Off to bookcrossing it goes!
I am way too caffeinated.
