Things you will learn by watching Man vs Wild:
Despite allegations that he actually has a bit of a cush time, it’s still entertaining.
In other news, I miss Deadliest Catch.
My hands either smell like Frankincense and Myrrh or Dragon’s Blood. My nose is far too overwhelmed to tell the difference. I was removing labels from some bottles of incense oil for Cha and I can’t get the stuff off of my hands. Three hand washings and some dousings of rubbing alcohol later and I’ve come to the conclusion that I will not be crocheting tonight. I have no desire to have my nearly done scarf smell like a head shop.
I think Bear is about to crawl inside a dead camel. Tauntauns everywhere cheer.
Wait a minute… don’t drink that! Ewww…
Today was several shades of wonderful.
-Was able to assist Rob in changing a tire (though mainly by running tools to where he was stopped on the edge of the interstate).
-Went for CrackPizza at Andy’s. So called because it is the crack of pizzas. Cravings.
-Went to see Stardust with Rob. I was very excited about it as Neil Gaiman is my favorite author and I adore the book.
-Rob liked the movie a lot. I was worried about this as it did not seem to be likely.
-I got a message that my package for the Stardust decant circle on BPAL went out today.
-Had a lovely evening with Rob after the movie. Watched some Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law and Doctor Who.
Hopefully it will be a good weekend.
I just found out by accident that Lloyd Alexander died on May 17th, about two weeks after his wife of over 60 years.
When I was younger I adored the Chronicles Of Prydain and I still mourn the loss of a pretty hardcover of the collected books that I lost during a bad friendship breakup. I originally stumbled into the Westmark Series while in junior high during one of my daily rounds in the library looking for something to read and quickly devoured it.
I’m too tired to say anything else.
Rest in Peace Lloyd and Janine.
I was browsing around and found an article on the recent bee disappearances via Neil Gaiman’s Journal. The article was very interesting, but what particularly struck my eye was this paragraph:
“As with any great mystery, a number of theories have been posed, and many seem to researchers to be more science fiction than science. People have blamed genetically modified crops, cellular phone towers and high-voltage transmission lines for the disappearances. Or was it a secret plot by Russia or Osama bin Laden to bring down American agriculture? Or, as some blogs have asserted, the rapture of the bees, in which God recalled them to heaven? Researchers have heard it all.”
The Rapture of the Bees! It’s here!
